Goucher College Class of 2012 is trying to get Ellen DeGeneres to be our Commencement Speaker. Please help out and like this video! Even if you don’t go to Goucher, please help spread it around!
Here are my top reasons as to why I think Ellen should come to Goucher:
- She was a judge on American Idol. Goucher has amazing singers and every year hosts its very own Goucher Idol.
- She paid attention to Towson University which is right down the street from us. Jealous much? YES!
- She was named the Global Envoy for AIDS awareness. Goucher’s co-ed acapella group Red Hot Blue raises money for AIDS awareness, and is just awesome, like Ellen.
- Her mother is named Elizabeth Jane DeGeneres. Elizabeth and Jane are both names of Jane Austen characters, and Goucher has an incredible Jane Austen collection.
- Ellen is of French, English, Irish, and German descent. Goucher requires that all students study abroad, and has programs in France, England, Ireland, and Germany.
- Ellen loves to dance! We have an AMAZING dance program!
- Ellen has an amazing job that lets her meet cool people all the time. Goucher is an amazing school that brings in speakers like Jane Goodhall, Arianna Huffington, Michael Pollan, Wangari Maathai, Sherman Alexie, and Scott Fried.
- Dory speaks Whale. Many of our students speak foreign languages like French, Spanish, and Russian.
- Dory lives in the ocean, which is currently dealing with a lot of pollution. Goucher is an extremely environmentally friendly campus.
- Ellen loves animals, so do we. :-) Not only do we have an amazing Equestrian team, but our mascot is the Gopher. You can’t get much cuter.
